"Today, I am dating a man I love and we have been together for 8 months. (Thank you Evan!)"

I was extremely frustrated by my inability to meet a man who was interested in a long-term relationship with me. Within a few weeks of registering for your Commitment Course, I learned:

  1. To stop competing with men and to focus on being happy and making our time together easy.
  2. To pay attention to how I am being treated
  3. Not to put too much emphasis on the rush I’m used to feeling (as that never worked out well)
  4. There are a lot of great guys out there looking to be in relationships

Today, I am dating a man I love and we have been together for 8 months (thank you Evan!) He wants to marry me, which is novel for me, but I have learned that I am more reluctant to commit to marriage than I realized in the past. The great news is that there is no rush and I believe we can get there. I continue to read your materials because I still need encouragement when I have doubts and many of your blogs provide that for me. You provide a reality check and remind me that everyone has doubts and there is no one “normal” response to love and commitment.

I think your insight and perspective is incredibly accurate – you seem to particularly understand the plight/perspective of the working, successful urban woman over 30. You are firm in your views; you do not allow for excuses nor are you obnoxious or mean about the facts. None of this is personal – you deliver facts and tie everything together logically, which is very appealing to someone like me.

Working with you, I learned skills I believe I will use forever and learned a lot about myself in the process.
