@ Kristyn @36

Yep, the burgandy link goes to the website people list when they fill in the comment form. Most people put their own sites.
I put chooseveg.com because they have great recipes, beautiful pictures of food and it is very informative.

I know that my "attraction radar" and my "lovemap" are broken, so I have learned to take these things into account, and look much, much deeper.

Preferred eye color is believed to be the result of imprinting, at least in some cases. Example - man with blue-eyed mom wants blue-eyed wife.

Nowhere does research indicate that such a preference cannot be overcome. Meanwhile, research verifies that familiarity is attractive, with respect to aesthetics. Only that which initially is repulsive - there are physical characteristics which have been shown to be almost universally so - and will not change is unlikely to ever be attractive.

I just read of a psych study that referred to the results of a particular gender study as having implications in the "dating marketplace."

Does anyone besides me have a problem with a social scientist--and a research psychologist at that--using this term?

The study was peripherally about "openness," if you will--but I'm not going to spark a gender attack by explaining it. Esp since I found the researcher's language off-putting.

@29

Users who supply a URL for a web site have their names colored in burgundy. Their name becomes a clickable hyperlink.

The less handsome "Steve" has also started signing his name as "Stevel".

HTH, FWIW

@Cilla #29, yeah there is still only one of me, though a while back a bizarro Jennifer (Seinfeld reference for those who don't know) did leave a couple of comments without distinguishing herself :-)

@ Jennifer (assuming there's still only one of you LOL)

Thanks. Yeah, I can't tell which Steve is which by looking at their username info. I don't get a hyperlink showing up with either one of them. So, I guess to both of them I'll say, "Chacun a son gout" ("To each his own") and "Bon weekend!" /:-)
