Preferred eye color is believed to be the result of imprinting, at least in some cases. Example – man with blue-eyed mom wants blue-eyed wife.

Nowhere does research indicate that such a preference cannot be overcome. Meanwhile, research verifies that familiarity is attractive, with respect to aesthetics. Only that which initially is repulsive – there are physical characteristics which have been shown to be almost universally so – and will not change is unlikely to ever be attractive.

I just read of a psych study that referred to the results of a particular gender study as having implications in the “dating marketplace.”

Does anyone besides me have a problem with a social scientist–and a research psychologist at that–using this term?

The study was peripherally about “openness,” if you will–but I’m not going to spark a gender attack by explaining it. Esp since I found the researcher’s language off-putting.
