It's a thinking exercise.

Problem is, the reason I hold my view, is that I used to hold the other view, debated the other side and changed my mind. Sheesh..
Arrghh...

I'll definately send in my 500 words. Thanks for another opportunity to think deeply :) Fun stuff :)

When I suggested the topic 'Legal marriage should be abolished in the USA' it was because I thought it could engender some lively conversation about the social impact if it ever happened.

I specifically used the term LEGAL marriage, because even if the government did decide to get out of the legislating relationships business (no licenses, no joint tax returns, no divorce courts), I would still expect millions of people to choose to be "married in church". Being married in any church would not have secular significance, but those couples would still be married in the eyes of their God and their religious community.

If someone wants to take this topic, "Legal marriage should NOT be abolished" and can argue the point WITHOUT bringing religion into it, feel free. I'd be interested to hear your reasoning.:)

Thanks Steve, but considering I am a) sick, b) about to go out of town and won't have internet access, and c) can't use either of the prizes (though I imagine I would enjoy a phone call with Evan!) I don't think I'll be able to play.

No, JerseyGirl, I'm from Louisiana. But vouchers have been my voting issue for well over a decade. Unfortunately, not everyone in my state government agrees with me!

So in order to win a free copy of my $297 Finding the One Online program or a fifty-minute breakthrough coaching call with me, your assignment is to take your topic, and, in 500-1000 words, argue the OTHER side of it.

LOL! *applause*. I can't wait to see Honey's entry, though I think Evan had a very satisfying chuckle when he came up with his idea knowing some of the usual suspects in his comment section.

Classic, Evan. I remember this assignment and I ended up having to argue about why we should have school vouchers. Well, it'll be interesting seeing what you get!
