THIS is exact the moment I knew I had to change my life…

My assistant had just quit and I was doing my own customer service for the first time in ten years. While I was going through the support inbox, I noticed a email from a woman who was very unhappy with her customer experience.

Melissa had bought Finding The One Online and couldn’t access it. Our Love U site was broken, our products were inside, and nothing was working. Although we emailed Melissa the program, she was still upset and needed to talk with someone.

I called Melissa and she was surprised to hear from me.

When she heard my voice, she sprang to life. She had first gotten an e-Cyrano profile, which was getting tons of attention, and she wanted to capitalize on it with learning how to date online. I told her how to open the product in her inbox and we continued to talk.

Quickly, Melissa opened up. She said that she was around my age and is also from Long Island. She said she read all my emails. She said that I was like her best guy friend and that discovering my material was one of the greatest things that ever happened to her. She told me that she knew I was going through some tough times with my technology but that I should persevere because I was making a bigger difference than I could possibly know.

She was so grateful that she almost choked up. I was so grateful, I almost choked up.

I may have been calling to apologize to a frustrated client, but what I was really doing was getting a gift from the universe. I’d gotten hints of this message before but now, it was coming through, loud and clear.

“You’re a PEOPLE PERSON. To be happy, you have to connect with PEOPLE.”

For 20 years, I have pursued a life that didn’t entirely make me happy. My entire job was writing newsletters, blog posts, podcasts and sales pages, while spending the rest of my time putting out tech fires. I am extrovert leading a totally introverted life.

The call and connection with Melissa was just the last straw: it’s time to change.

I say the same thing to clients who are frustrated with their lives.

Now I had to look in the mirror and take responsibility for what’s not working in mine.

It required a lot of soul-searching over the past month, but I’ve finally figured it out.

I’m going back to being a dating coach for smart, strong, successful women. Sure, I‘m still going to offer free advice and offer you my products. But the renewed emphasis of my job will be on my passion – helping smart, motivated women find lasting love.

Just like I tell women like you, life is too short to ignore the signs that you’re unhappy. Today, I’m turning over a new leaf. And damn, I’m excited about it.

What this means for you as a reader:

  1. I will be experimenting with my email. Where I was sending out three emails a week pointing to my products, I’m going to send out fewer emails. Maybe one blog/video each week and one chance to purchase a product each week.
  2. I will likely be doing more engagement on Facebook. Instead of just reading my emails, if you want to talk to me directly, I’ll be on Facebook to answer you. Stay tuned for details.
  3. I will be doing a LOT more coaching. Nothing makes me happier than hearing your story, developing a close relationship with you, and watching your love life blossom. That’s why I became a coach in 2003 and that’s what I want to do again.

Starting now, I am not only taking more private clients but I am also opening the doors to my Love U Inner Circle for the first time since 2016. If you want access to Love U, along with intimate peer support, and weekly live Q&As, you will be given the chance to get in the first Inner Circle soon.

Anyway, if you’ve ever been through a tough time where you felt sad and couldn’t quite pinpoint why – and then you figured it out and found a solution, you know how I feel.I feel light and free and excited to do the thing I love the most.

Remember, I’m still going to offer you free advice and inexpensive programs, but, from now on, if you are serious about finding love, I want to talk with you personally on the phone.

If I can look in the mirror and change my life overnight, I promise: you can, too.

Evan, it’s interesting you posted this, because a while ago, I was reading your blog, and the thought crossed my mind that with all the blogging, Love U, etc., I wondered if you had time for or still wanted to provide individual coaching, so it sounds like it is a good idea to refocus on it. Also, it helps you to keep learning and growing. After so many years in this business, you probably have seen and heard it all; however, I bet over the next three to six months you’ll be in contact with women who all seem to be dealing with some new issue, and you will have the basis for another great product to help women!I guess your assistant quitting turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It’s funny how life works that way sometimes.

Good stuff, Evan.  Extroverts require direct connection with others in order to be happy.  It was clear in your frequently peevish responses that you’ve not been feeling at your best.  Glad you’ve resolved to make some necessary changes.  Onward and upward, friend!
