Is Your Childhood Sabotaging Your Ability to Find Your Perfect Partner?

finding your perfect partner

I’m a science guy, not a faith guy.

A reality guy, not a wishful thinking guy.

A take-ownership guy, not a pray to the universe guy.

If I can’t see it, touch it or read a double-blind study verifying it, I tend to be skeptical of it.

I know that puts me out of step with most of society, since most people are believers in something: God, a higher power, “spirit,” nature, or one of the world’s many religions.

Honestly, it sometimes makes me question:

What am I missing? Why haven’t I been given the gift of faith?

I can’t quite answer that, but I can continue to question my own (lack of) belief with further questioning and inquiry.

Since I know a lot of people in the personal growth space, I’m fortunate enough to challenge my own thinking on a daily basis.

Recently, I was Skyping with a friend named Glen Ledwell, who owns a company called MindMovies. He’s a huge believer in the Law of Attraction and the power of manifestation.

Your childhood deeply shapes your beliefs in adulthood.

He told me about all the research he and his wife had done about modern mind science.

He shared with me something that sounds obvious but has profound affects: your childhood deeply shapes your beliefs in adulthood.

That means your beliefs about confidence and self-esteem.

That means your beliefs about men and relationships.

That means your beliefs about money and success.

The question is whether your childhood is helping or sabotaging your success.

This 30-second quiz Glen and his wife Natalie put together reveals the surprising answer.

The question is whether your childhood is helping or sabotaging your success.

I will say, I took the quiz and found it to be quite revealing about the kind of person I am.

If you feel stuck personally or professionally, I think you’ll find it as interesting as I did.

Check it out yourself and let me know what you think.

I took the quiz. It was accurate with regard to what holds me back from reaching my full potential. But I didn’t experience the childhood described as the cause of it. Quite the opposite, actually.

I think these kinds of things have their place, but they simply don’t apply  to everyone. People, and why they behave the way they behave, is so much more complicated and nuanced than a short quiz can assertain and an online video or course can rectify. Individual results WILL vary.

On a personal note, you can’t see the wind but you can feel it. There are many aspects of our universe that we can’t feel but we know it’s taking place.   When you think about the science on how the world runs…and science has also failed us many a time (that’s why they do a study and then discover something new and modify the study). Example, Two years ago birth control is good, but a new study shows…etc.   Once upon a time, science believed the earth was flat, etc.   But I know that is not what your blog is about so I will leave that alone.

The quiz? It was interesting. Thank you.
