Maria’s Coaching Journey with Evan Marc Katz – Week 1

In December, I did something I’ve never done before: I offered a scholarship to work with me for 12 weeks. The winner would receive all my products: Why He Disappeared, Believe in Love, and Finding the One Online, as well as a FOCUS Coaching membership, professional photography, an online dating profile written by me, and 12 weeks of recorded hourly coaching. Applications poured in – over 100 of them – and I announced the winner right before the new year: Maria O from Florida.

It’s always risky making something that is inherently private into a public spectacle, but Maria is so enthusiastic about working together that she offered to document her process, including all the ups and downs. I have no idea whether I’ll look good or she’ll look good; all I know is that we both really want to help other women, and we’re hoping that showing what it’s like to get dating coaching inspires you to take action in your own love life this year. Without further ado, here’s what Maria wrote about her first gift, a professional photographer to take her online dating profile shots.

Hi Evan!

Hope you’re having a wonderful time with your family on the Holidays. I’m sending you an update of the photo shoot and a link for a video I took when we were done. Feel free to make changes if I didn’t write something right. Once again, thanks for the opportunity to work with you. 🙂

Today was the photo shoot for the pictures that are going to be used for my online dating profile. The photographer took 80 pictures and I get to chose 12. I had to bring a couple of different outfits, something casual and something dressy including different accessories to wear and change my hair. It was at different locations in a beautiful marina in Miami and I had a lot of fun. The photographer was very helpful, giving me suggestions on how to stand and pose. The whole idea is to have professional pictures taken that look like I was having a good time out with friends. You really don’t like them to look “professional” because it sends the message that you’re trying too hard, like Evan says, but you DO want good pictures. Although I’m not attached to the outcome I’m determine to have the best time. I had fun looking into the camera as if I was looking into my beloved’s eyes.

It was great to have my friend Jason with me, he made me laugh, making funny comments behind the photographer and most important he helped me pick the best pictures from a man’s point of view. 🙂

This week, I wrote Maria’s profile after she filled out my e-Cyrano questionnaire and I’m looking forward to sharing her reaction. Stay tuned ’til next Friday…

Maria! Congrats on Evan’s prize/gift. I wasn’t brave enough to enter as three years of reading Evan has so changed my life…in baby steps. I got disentangle and clear head, but not free and focused enough to brave intensive dating with Evan coaching. You are a beautiful woman. So unique and individual that is going to grab the attention of an amazing, sincere man…with his head screwed on straight…. a responsible man.
Treasure your rockin bod and trust your inner compass……and Evan’s advice.
